We love Daddy

Last Sunday was Fathers Day. We started the day off by letting Wayne sleep in and then brought him breakfast in bed. His present this year was semi-homemade. I know that he loved it! All of us relaxed and later grilled for dinner. There was even a visit from some awesome super heros. Wayne is absolutely our super hero! He works so hard for our family and I am so grateful. He is loving, hilarious, and takes such wonderful care of us all. He never ceases to amaze me and I am so proud of him.

Tomorrow we leave for the beach, everyone except Wayne. The price he pays for being a small business owner. Owen, Emily, and I will miss him so much. Thank you Lord for skype. Please pray that we have a safe trip this next week and that the Lord watches over him while we are away. We love Daddy so much and will be counting down the days until next Saturday.

Summer journal

So one of the many ways Owen is getting handwriting practice this summer, is by keeping a journal. It is fun for him to write a sentence about what he did that day and draw a picture to go with it. I told him that next time we venture to the store he could pick out some cool duck tape to redo the covers of his journal. You know so that it will look cool. He has been doing great and it will be neat (yes, I just typed out the word, neat) to look at his journal at the end of summer and have a little stroll down memory lane.

I'm loving that my car which has a lot of issues will be fixed Thursday afternoon.
I'm also loving the fact that my youngest has finally kicked the paci addiction.

Last week in pictures

I am loving summer! We had the best week! We have played outside in the sprinkler, painted with sidewalk chalk, homemade I might add, and were able to visit with sweet friends. Oh, and did I mention swim lessons for Owen finished Friday? And guess what,... I now have a little swimmer! This week will be just as great. We are now counting down till we leave for the beach. 5 DAYS LEFT!

Rainy days and paint

It has been pouring rain on and off for two days now, which mean lots of extra snuggles, movies, popcorn, pj wearing and painting. It has been wonderful! And the extra downtime was much needed after a t-ball filled weekend. Owen's team was put out of the tourney Sat. so we are completely finished until next year. Yesterday we were lazy all day and after dinner Owen and Emily picked out a movie for us all. Tarzan, anyone? Today we awoke to more rain. The highlight of our day was seeing a deer in the back of our field and painting. Painting was so much fun and I haven't painted anything myself in so long. We worked on some surprises for family and I painted two pieces for Emily and Owen's room. More storms are rolling in tonight, so who knows what tomorrow holds. Maybe fort building or more creating with my babies.

summer school

In the midst of the t-ball madness and swimming lessons we have squeezed in a little bit of summer school. No, we aren't doing year round school. It is just a way to keep him fresh before kindergarten starts in the fall. He plays on starfall.com almost everyday. And we do a little bit of handwriting, math, and practice our sight words at least 3 times a week. Emily is joining in on the fun too. I bought her several things to keep her attention while I help Owen. We love scholastic sight word readers and I am proud to say that reading has finally clicked with Owen. He has been sounding out words for a while now but it is really starting to make sense to him. He has begun putting words together to make sentences. I am one proud mommy! Here are some pics of school.
