Spring Break

This week was spring break and to say that it has flown by, would be an understatement. We have had so much fun being lazy, playing outside, taking great naps, playing in the rain and visiting with friends. I'll let the pictures tell the story of this amazing week. Helping blow out the candles

This past Sunday, the 18th, I celebrated my birthday. It was number 27. While I did find a couple of white hairs on the way to church,insert internal scream! This birthday felt just like the last. I guess you reach a certain age and they all feel the same. Wayne and kids gave me some new ear buds for running and an arm strap to hold my phone, which is also used for my running music. We spent the day together and I was allowed a 3 hour nap. It was wonderful! That evening we went to my parents house and had  a fabulous birthday dinner, made by my mother. And did I mention she made a homemade cheesecake that was to die for?!?! It was so yummy. Presents from parents included new bed sheets. I know you are thinking, how boring, but it is what I asked for. They also announced we were all going to the beach and that they paid our 1/2! It was a great birthday, even if it means I'm just a few short years to #30.

5k

A month from today I will be running in my 1st 5k race. I will be running the,"trot 4 tots" 5k benefiting The Learning Tree.

The Learning Tree, Inc. is a non-profit organization that exists to provide a warm and loving environment with individualized, empirically validated services and supports to persons with significant educational, medical, and behavioral challenges; helping them develop and maintain a quality of life enjoyed by non-disabled members of their family and community.

 I am very excited about this race and what it supports. While I've been running about a month and my time has improved. I'm now just going to concentrate on running 4 days a week and finishing the race, no matter what. Have any of you ran a 5k? What did you do to prepare?

Sun and sand

We are having beautiful weather with lots of warm sunshine. So after school we went to the beach, sandbox. Owen loves to play with his plastic pirates and dig for treasure. While Emily digs, throws, and yes, eats sand. We are working on the latter. Happy Tuesday everyone!

Busy

BUSY, can some up last month and the 1st of this month. Emily had her first haircut, school was extremely busy, Valentines, and Owen started his first year of t-ball. I'm also going to zumba twice a week and running 3-4 days a week. So my days and nights are jam packed right now. I will try to be more faithful blogging but will make no promises. Here a "few" pictures from the past month. Enjoy!
